Stacey Keating (née Kurtz) is a visual artist working across fine art, large-scale murals for private homes and businesses, public art, and scenic art for theatre and sets. Over the past 20 years, she has created work on walls, ceilings, canvas, and everything in between, with a focus on transforming the spaces her work inhabits.
Originally from New York and now based in Sydney, Australia, Keating has completed mural projects in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sydney, and Melbourne, with paintings held in collections internationally. Her work has been commissioned for a wide range of spaces including New York University, commercial interiors, hospitality venues, and private residences. Selected projects have also appeared in commercial collaborations and design contexts, including Fendi print campaigns and presentations involving designers such as Rodarte and Balenciaga, with installations featured in publications including Vogue Australia.
Her practice focuses on beauty in all its forms, with a strong emphasis on Australian native flora and fauna, colour, and monochromatic studies. She is particularly drawn to birds such as the black cockatoo, alongside native botanical forms like banksia, using them as a way to explore resilience, energy, and connection to the natural world.
“My art has never been just one thing,” she says. “While my interests range from illustrative realism to energetic abstraction, from contemplative to cheeky, the consistent thread is a deep and enduring love of nature.”
Through her work, Keating aims to create a sense of wonder, familiarity, and connection—bringing elements of the natural world into everyday spaces in a way that feels accessible, uplifting, and alive. For mural and canvas commissions of all kinds, please don’t hesitate to contact me: staceykeatingart@gmail.com.
