The second painting in my Bush-Wah-Zee (Bourgeoisie) series, this piece reflects the idea that traditional Australiana can be unapologetically high-end. Inspired by de Gournay's hand-painted wallpapers, I wanted to create a space with exclusively Australian flora, focused on a central figure in the room. The figures that loom largest to me in the bush are often the parrots- they're so incredibly beautiful, and so incredibly.... LOUD. They will not be ignored, and neither will Priscilla.

  • 152.4cm x 122cm (60” x 48”)

  • Acrylic on Cotton Duck

  • Victorian Ash stretchers
